With a 16-oz capacity — a full pint — the Tumbler is Ember's largest mug yet, beating out both the 12-oz Travel Mug 2+ and the large-size Ember Mug 2, which holds 14 ounces. The mug has the same three-hour battery life as the Travel Mug 2+, making it ideal to take on the road. Like the Travel Mug, the Ember Tumbler comes with a slide-top lid, effectively making it a large travel mug. But unlike the Travel Mug, the Tumbler also includes an additional leakproof lid with a built-in handle, making it easier to carry with you on the go. It's also IPX7-rated for water resistance and can withstand submersion under 1m of water. Anyone down for a caffeinated hike?
Like other Ember mugs, the Tumbler connects to the Ember app via Bluetooth, where you can set your preferred temperature anywhere between 120°F and 145°F. But even if you don't want to mess around with the app, the Tumbler will still keep your coffee hot: It's pre-set to stay at 135°F out of the box. It also, like all other Ember mugs, includes a charging coaster for all-day temperature control.
One function on the Travel Mug 2+ that's missing from the Tumbler — and which would honestly be a welcome addition — is Apple's Find My technology. If you lose the Travel Mug 2+, it can be located using your Apple device. The Tumbler curiously is without this technology, meaning you'll have to be a bit more careful not to lose it during your aforementioned caffeinated hike.
