If Apple’s AirPods don’t fit in your ears, or maybe they’re just not comfortable, all isn't in vain. That’s because Comply, the well-known maker of those cushy foam eartips, makes eartips for most wireless earbuds — including Apple's AirPods and AirPods Pro.

(Note: Comply does not currently make foam tips that are compatible with Apple's third-generation AirPods.)

Why Comply Tips?

The above Comply tips snap onto your AirPods the same way Apple’s provided silicone tips do.

The big advantage to using Comply eartips is that they naturally fit more securely in your ears than the stock silicone eartips that Apple provides with its AirPods Pro (any generation). They’re also significantly better at passive noise-isolation, meaning they naturally prevent outside sounds from leaking in, which you may or may not like.

You can buy a pack of three pairs for around $25 and they can be purchased in three different sizes (small, medium, large) or you can purchase a three-pack with one of each size. If you do buy these Comply tips, a good thing to know is that your AirPods Pro will still fit into their charging case and charge. The largest Comply tips fit as well, although it does feel a little tight.

The Downside to Comply Tips with your AirPods Pro

From what I can tell, the biggest downside from using Comply tips is the built-in "Fit Test" that’s a feature of AirPods Pro (all models) doesn’t work as well.

In my experience, the biggest downside of using Comply Tips with AirPods Pro is that they have a negative impact on the Ear Tip Fit Test, which is an exclusive feature for the AirPods Pro where they run a quick test to see if they are fitting your ears correctly.

According to Comply's website, you should be able to get the Ear Tip Fit Test to pass you while wearing their non-Apple tips, but I haven't been able to pass it even when switching between the several tips. It's not a game-changer because my AirPods Pro still sound fine with the tips, but it's worth pointing out.

The other downside is that Comply Tips only come in black, so they definitely don't look as natural as the white silicone tips that Apple provides.
