If you’re in the market for a really nice 4K TV but don’t want to spend big on an OLED TV, you’re in luck. That’s because Amazon is having a pretty big sale on some of Samsung’s high-end 4K QLED TVs. There are deals on both of Samsung’s Q60R Series and Q70R Series of 4K QLED TVs, ranging in sizes from 55-inch to 82-inch models. Right now, the deals stretch between 42 and 47 percent off.
(Part of the reason why these are such incredible deals is that all these TVs are 2019 models. Samsung just announced its 2020 lineup of QLED TVs at CES, all of which will be available in the next few months.)
To date, Samsung’s 4K QLED TVs have been the closet rivals to LG’s 4K OLED TVs, which are largely considered the most beautiful 4K TVs you can buy. The problem with LG’s OLED 4K TVs is that they’re wildly expensive. Samsung’s 4K QLED TVs are also pretty expensive (though they don’t normally cost as much as LG’s), and they’re able to produce a similar picture quality, with excellent brightness and high contrast, as 4K OLED TVs.
Now, because of this Amazon deal, the prices of Samsung’s QLED 4K TVs have actually dropped to the levels of 4K TVs with regular LED-backlit LCD displays.
