When it comes to blenders, one brand comes to mind first: Vitamix. It's like when you think of vacuum cleaners, you think of the almighty Dyson. Vitamix didn't start out as a blender brand (in fact, its first product was a can opener), but founder William Grover Barnard and his family were so into their vegetarian lifestyle, that they became obsessed with blenders. After all, smoothies seem to be the most popular thing to make in a blender. But despite being on the pricier end of the spectrum of blenders, Vitamix still is a top-selling brand. And it's easy to see why: The blenders are damn good at, well, blending. From entry-level blenders to some high-tech workhorses, here is how each model of Vitamix's blenders compare.
Vitamix One
Vitamix One
The Vitamix One is the brand's entry-level blender, in terms of price point, and also its most compact model. The One is operated by a simple-to-use turn dial, which Vitamix recommends you use by starting the blender, then immediately ramping up to high speed. However, because this is an entry-level blender, it's not as full-powered as the higher-end models. That means you won't be able to make certain things, like nut butters, hot soups or doughs, and attempting to do so would invalidate the warranty.

Vitamix TurboBlend Three Speed
The TurboBlend Three Speed lays out its features right in the name: It offers three speed controls — low, medium, high — to create the grind or consistency you're looking for. It comes with Vitamix's classic 64-ounce tall container, and it also has a pulse function, a feature that not all of Vitamix's blenders offer, but one that users appreciate having. And unlike the Vitamix One, the TurboBlend can blend up anything instead of being restricted to a select few techniques.
Vitamix 5200
The step-up to the TurboBlend, the 5200 swaps out the three-speed dial for a variable dial that gives a greater range of speeds instead of just low, medium and high. The dial can be adjust mid-blend for greater control, and you can kick the blender into high for the ability to break down practically anything.
Vitamix 7500
According to Vitamix, the 7500 houses the brand's most powerful motor, which clocks in at 2.2 horsepower versus the other models' 2 horsepower motors. That means it can more quickly and easily break through whole fruit or other dense items. It has a 10-speed variable dial, as well as a pulse function, and the container has a low-profile design to better fit in tight spaces.
Vitamix Professional Series 750
The 750 is essentially a culmination of every other model in the Legacy Series. It has the 5200's variable speed control, the TurboBlend's pulse control and the 7500's 2.2 horsepower motor. The main selling point of the 750 is its five pre-programmed settings for smoothies, hot soups, frozen desserts, purées and self-cleaning. With the pre-programmed settings, you can set the blender to do the work as you step away to do anything else.
Explorian Series
Vitamix E310
If the Vitamix One isn't going to cut it for you as an entry-level model, go for the Vitamix E310. It's a few bucks more expensive, but it has the same motor as the 5200, our Just Get This Vitamix model, and it runs the gamut of what it can blend. Its space-saving design is great for those with small kitchens, and it has the ever-important pulse feature for making perfectly chunky dips or salsas.
Ascent Series
Vitamix A2300
The Ascent series of Vitamix blenders are the brand's smartest models. The A2300 has a Self-Detect feature that can tell which Self-Detect container you're using to better adjust to blending, and with wireless connectivity, future Vitamix updates will be automatically applied to your blender. There's also a built-in timer to keep track of blend times.
Vitamix A2500
The A2500 has everything the A2300 has, but it also includes three pre-set program settings. It costs $50 more, but if pre-settings are important to you, then it could be worth the extra dough.
Vitamix A3300
For those who just need to have a touch-screen interface, the A3300 is that blender. It's essentially the A2300, but with an easy-to-clean and easy-to-use control panel, which also happens to make it a bit sleeker.
Vitamix A3500
Same deal with the A3500 — it's the A2500, so it has pre-settings, but also touchscreen controls.
