Storz & Bickel is a powerhouse in the cannabis vaporizer industry, accounting for the legendary Volcano and the Mighty (our top upgrade pick from our best vapes guide), among others. The brand has paid its dues in spades and has helped drive the industry as we know it into what it is today. However, it has been a little quiet on the release front for some time. But that changes today with the unveiling of the Venty, Storz & Bickel's first entirely new device in about a decade.
As expected, this device has Storz & Bickel written all over it, including the brand's signature styling, loads of impressive built-in tech and more. But it also comes with a few welcome surprises that, in my opinion, were a long time coming.
The Venty Is Storz & Bickel's Fastest Weed Vape, Ever
If you know Storz & Bickel, you know the brand's expertise lands in precision and performance. The Venty is no exception to that rule. In fact, it may be the next step in what's possible and will probably set a new standard. It's actually the brand's fastest device to date, with a heating speed of a jaw-dropping 20 seconds (for reference, most other devices take twice that long to heat up). That's faster than any of the brand's other devices by a big margin and is almost definitely the fastest production device in the industry.
But speed is not all the Venty has to offer. It's also the first vape of its kind to offer a custom, adjustable airflow. That means you can decide just how much vapor it produces (up to a whopping 20 liters/minute) with each puff. This is made possible largely because of the brand's newly designed convection & conduction mini-heater, which promises never to burn your cannabis while still producing sizable vapor clouds.
The suite of tech just keeps going from there. The Venty also includes a battery that can charge up to 80 percent in only 40 minutes (again, faster than most other devices in the industry by a big margin), precision temperature control with a range of 40-210 degrees Celsius (104-410 Fahrenheit) and even Bluetooth connectivity and app control. Put bluntly (pun intended), this is a vape that punches well above its weight class, so to speak.
It's Surprisingly Portable
The most striking thing about this vape at first glance is its size. Measuring 6.18 inches tall, 2.17 inches wide, 1.46 inches deep and weighing in at just over half a pound, this is the brand's second smallest device. The only one that comes close, really, is the Crafty+, which is slightly smaller (4.3 inches tall, 2.2 inches wide, 1.3 inches deep and 0.3 lbs) but is comparatively lacking when it comes to tech.
Those size metrics especially stand out when you consider just how jam-packed it is with its aforementioned tech. Performance-wise, it probably best compares to the Mighty (or even the Mighty+), which is about double the size. That means this one is a lot more portable than most of its siblings — dare I say, perhaps even truly pocketable — while packing a pretty massive punch. It's clear that Storz & Bickel are guiding the vape industry down a path, and it's a path I'm excited to follow.
All This Goodness Comes at a Pretty High Price
The one big downside to the new Storz & Bickel Venty is its price. While I can certainly understand charging $449 USD for something so wildly impressive, there's still a bit of sticker shock. For reference, the next closest portable device — the Mighty+ — will cost you just $399. And the heavy-hitting Volcano starts at $479 for the Classic and $699 for the more upgraded Hybrid.
It also is not compatible with concentrate, instead designed to work solely with dry herb. Of course, this is not entirely unexpected, as the rest of the brand's catalog is also not designed for concentrate. That being said, this lack of compatibility paired with the high price may deter some users from making the investment. Speaking from experience, however, I can say that the investment for dry herb users is almost definitely worthwhile and I look forward to trying the Venty for myself in the near future.
